He also holds a BSc in Zoology and Physiology from the University of Cape Town, an Honours degree in Wildlife Management, and a Master\u2019s degree in Diagnostic Imaging, both from the University of Pretoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>He is a Level 3 FEI Official Veterinarian in the disciplines of Eventing, Show Jumping, Dressage, Carriage Driving and vaulting and is a Level 2 Endurance Treating and Official Veterinarian. He was appointed as the South African Team Veterinarian at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, USA in 2018 and he is currently the National Veterinary Welfare Officer and Advisor to both South African Show Jumping (SASJ) and Eventing South Africa (ESA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sean has been a member of a number of veterinary groups and is currently a director and the immediate past president of the South African Equine Veterinary Association (SAEVA). From his research, Sean has published articles in a number of local and international scientific journals. He has also presented this research at both local and international conferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>He has a keen interest in holistic veterinary care which includes a top-to-tail approach of evaluation and treatment. This involves working closely with para-veterinary professionals, such veterinary physiotherapists, in order to ensure the best possible health and performance outcomes for the horse.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is a member of the Veterinary European Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Association, The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and the International Society for Equine Locomotor Pathology. He has completed courses in acupuncture and equine dentistry, and recently completed an Advanced Veterinary Practitioner certification in lameness diagnosis and therapeutic through the University of Liverpool. Sean is a reviewer of equine research papers for the South African Veterinary Journal and an Academic Editor in charge of Equine Manuscripts for the Australian Veterinary Journal. In 2025 Sean was appointed as an Equine Subject Examiner for the South African Veterinary Council registration examinations and in 2026 was appointed as an examination moderator for equine studies at the Veterinary Faculty, University of Pretoria as well as a subject moderator for 3 subjects at the Equine-Librium College of Veterinary Physiotherapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>After nearly a decade working with sport horses as an assistant veterinarian, Sean opened Sport Horse Veterinary Services in May 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Sean Miller Sean graduated from University of Pretoria\u2019s Faculty of Veterinary Science, Onderstepoort, in 2012.
